Cleaning as a workout
Yesterday was a crazy busy day and I didn't get in my typical workout, but I definitely burned quite a few calories while cleaning the house. I spent a good three house picking -up, cleaning, and doing laundry. Based one myfitnesspal.com I burned over 500 calories. Woohoo! I'll take it. Not only did I really need to clean the house but it helped me burn the calories that I usually burn during a workout (actually more than I usually burn during a workout). So now my house is kind of clean and today is a new day.
Unfortunately, we had house guests over until after 10pm last night. I am usually in bed around 9 and asleep long before 10pm. After they left I didn't get to pick up our dinner dishes and clean off the table, counters, and stove. But, I will do that when I get home before I make dinner tonight. Then, at some point this evening I will have to do some kind of workout because there was no way I was going to be able to get up at 4:30 this morning. Funny enough I did wake up on my own at about 4:35. I considered getting up and workout out, but I didn't have my bag packed or clothes laid out, so I would have been scrambling. I decided to sleep in until 5:30 (I know, 5:30 is sleeping in?) and I will either ride my bike, go to the Y, or maybe even just do a workout video at home. Jay is taking Aiden to Bloomington tonight so I will have the house to myself. I need to finish the final loads of laundry so I'll probably break out an old workout video or two. I don't want to push it though, because I don't think I should workout hard tonight before tomorrow morning's 5:00am workout.
